Murders, myths and mysteries lurk within the shadows of Victorian London.

In the late Victorian Era, when deep-rooted superstitions and occultism coexisted in the blooming world of sciences and innovative industries, Detective Inspector Michael Faye of Scotland Yard encountered the weirdest incident for the first time in his police life.

How could ‘the Hand of Glory’ - a gory artifact made from pickled dead human’s hand - murder an antique shop owner and flee through the room window? No one could give him a reasonable explanation except an unsociable, reserved, and eccentric police surgeon named Dr. Tobias Faulkner.

From case to case, DI Faye and Dr. Faulkner’s cordial bond developed from trusted friends to lifelong partners who shared a firm yet tender affection that could not speak its name at that time.

‘Dark Tales of London’ consists of two novellas and six short stories set in late 19th-century England. Each story is inspired from biblical lore and folktales from the British Isles and other European countries, such as the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, Jack O’ Lantern, and the First Foot custom.

What reader says

My all-time favorite novel.

After finishing this book, I didn't think I'd like it this much.

The pace of the stories escalated when it reached the case of 'The Man who Died Twice.'

It was unputdownable. The details of investigation and autopsy methods in the Victorian era which were different from the present day added the charm to the stories.
